IMPORTANT MESSAGES ABOUT WHY WE NEED TO BE BETTER AT THE DISPOSING OF OUR RUBBISH

An Important Message

We in Maatai have decided that there is too much waste and rubbish in our school. To do something about reducing this, we have sent out a challenge for EVERYBODY to have a LITTERLESS LUNCH at school. Here are some photos of what these lunches might look like.

It was a pleasure meeting with many of the parents, whanau and caregivers of our class over the last two evenings. Mrs Duggan looks forward to meeting with more of you over the next couple of evenings.
We are proud of the efforts that the children have made over the last term. It was great to share their successes and we especially appreciate the way many of you have committed to further supporting your children's learning at home.

We look forward to term two.

Mr Taane and Mrs Duggan.

I love teacher humor! Here is a collection of funny teacher memes, quotes, and everything in between. Feel free to laugh out loud.:

Fantastic!

Easy Blog Photo

Important update - Welcome to our new and improved blog!

Welcome back everybody

A big thank you to all whanau who've actively viewed, contributed and interacted with our class Dojo over the last term. As we've mentioned in a past post, we'd really like to encourage you all to access this class blog on a regular basis as we are better able to interact with you via this medium.

Dojo does not enable us to post large videos, provide links to important learning sites or communicate as effectively as we'd like with you. This does not mean that we will be getting rid of our Class Dojo as it has been invaluable as a tool for recognising children's positive behaviour!

As you can see, we have posted videos of the class singing, shared literacy and numeracy links and will continue to do this on a regular basis.

Term 1 will soon end and we are feeling very positive about the children's efforts over this time. We look forward to meeting with you in week 10 at parent interviews.

Term 2 looks to be as busy as term 1! Make sure the children have a relaxing holiday break as we will be starting the term with all guns blazing!

Kind regards and many thanks for your ongoing support

Mr T and Mrs D.

Success Criteria

In Maatai, we use Success Criteria as rules for our learning. We used this criteria as a guide to help us complete our artwork.

The Arts in Maatai

We sketched our portrait from a black and white photo. The Pop Art Style of Roy Lichenstein was used to add colour and fun comic style to our portraits.

Week 3 - term 1

Whew! Where has the time gone!
We are all guns blazing in Maatai at the moment! We encourage you all to access this Blog on a regular basis as we will post videos and pictures of our work as we progress throughout the year. The Dojo is another means of keeping up with our progress but ultimately we'd like our Blog to be your first port of call when checking on what's happening in Maatai.
Thanks for visiting.
