Hello to all the children in Rooms 25 and 26,
After we saw that beautiful, brightly coloured Eastern Rosella out the back window of the classroom yesterday, I thought you might all enjoy this picture and information about this native Australian bird:

The eastern rosella is a rosella native to southeast of the Australian continent and to Tasmania. It has been introduced to New Zealand where wild ones are found in the North Island and in the hills around Dunedin in the South Island. Wikipedia

I also found a lovely photograph of another couple of birds that are also native to Australia, one which I told you about yesterday. The big white bird is the Sulphur Crested Cockatoo and the brightly coloured ones are lorikeets that eat nectar.

The sulphur crested cockatoos are the ones I told you that I saw in the tree outside my son Malcolm's house in Melbourne, right in the middle of the city.

Here is the not so bright photo I took of the ones that perched in the tree and which I loved seeing up close. I hope you all enjoy these pictures that I searched for, and found for you to share.

I have loved sharing your blog and all the information you have been uploading. Keep it up!!
